Work Services
Adults with developmental disabilities are provided vocational training and experience, which prepares them to enter the competitive workplace while enabling them to earn an income. These individuals choose personal goals related to their work skills development. Paid work opportunities may be available at both centers and in integrated community settings. These individuals have completed over 2 million pieces a year of various work products with 100% quality rating for over 7 years.
Funding
Services in this program area are funded through the Prevocational Services of the Medicaid Developmental Disability, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Support Service Waivers and through state funds under Sheltered Employment Services.
Success Story: One of our recent clients worked in the work center as well as on enclaves at a local industry. She worked one-on-one with a Life Skills instructor to obtain her driver's license. She now drives her own vehicle and works full-time at a local factory with limited JRDS assistance!
